LB Watch: Black Hollywood

So as some of you may know, Morehouse College had their homecoming this weekend; Events were going on throughout the whole week. We did a previous post on the Morehouse Homecoming Fashion Show, and now we bring you the Homecoming Coronation Ball. Students from the AUC filled up the World Congress Center here in Atlanta. I so thought I was in Black Hollywood. The ball started at 9, and we did'nt show up untill 12. Yes I know, we were fashionably late. From ball gowns to bow tie's, everybody tried to be dressed down to a T. But you know LB had to come through and show the kids real FASHUAN. From Vogue Magazine's in hand, to Salvatore Ferragamo gloves (( iCON )) we showed up and showed out.

Carta: Eyes Wide Shut

The ballots are in. All the make-up houses agree. Blue is the shade this season.

As one of their new fall looks, MAC came out with "Blue Storm". Created with their new Matte² highly pigmented eye shadow, you can tell from the look above that the effect is very intense. This would be perfect for a dramatic look for a night out. I personally think the color is very generating and would appear very radiant on the correct skin tone. Ladies this line is very intense and will need to be worn properly! Dont be overwhelmed by the colors, it's all about how you apply it. MAC is definitely coming strong with the cosmetics this season. Check out the other shades that are available after the jump!

Hall Closet: Shade on the Panel

I've never been a big fan of sunglasses. Don't get me wrong I think they look very cool on celebrities and most people around me, but personally I just don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on an accessory that I'm going to use a couple of times a year, and then it'll probably go out of season. That is until I saw Tom Ford's new aviators. OMG. These shades are everything. Stars from Ashley Olsen to Selma Hayek have been spotted in these new innovative optics. Catch the second design of his frames after the cut.

(and it's what... NO SHADE!)

Alica Keys & Naomi Campbell at the Swaroski Fashion Rocks Event. Im not really an expert in women's clothing, men's is my nitch, but when I saw these two women; the first thing that came to mind was YES!! From 2 of my favorite designers- Dolce & Gabbana and Giorgio Armani. They aren't to be played with. Is it just me, cause Im starting to live for Alica Keys...

LB Look Book : Wait Till I Get My Closet Right.

When I first saw these fits I wanted to throw my Apple Macbook across the room. I love every piece from Z Zegna. The jackets scream high fashion and when its worn on a man- even better. Just wait till I get my closet right. Im going to lose about 30 pounds and purchase these pieces....I don't care if its last season by then.....I want them.

My look for this season is ultra conservative- Ralph Lauren Slippers and Cardigans. But for next season 08', I want to try this look. It's a stretch, but hey, its all about trying new things....

Wednesday

Hall Closet: Halloween Havoc

Halloween is rapidly approaching and my friends and I have been having round tables about what we could possibly be. My idea was to rock all the old and outdated trends and be "late". LOL. Since fashion is implemented into every aspect of our lives I thought that would be fun.

And so, I've decided to draw inspiration from the most creative and trendy of them all- the fashion designers. After all, there is no reason not to be fashionable on Halloween! From Balenciaga, Dior couture, and Alexander McQueen these are designers that aren't afraid to go the distance and to step out of the box....

Hall Closet: Disap"POINTED"

For the past three seasons they have been out, they cause a frenzy when they are spotted on the street, and strippers don't even wear them.

Yes. It's the POINTED toe shoe. My friend and I ((publicist KJ Stuckey)) recently attended a function and at least 8 pair of "pointies" (that's what we call them), walked passed us. I looked at him and said this is enough. Ladies, please for my sake and yours, stay away from the pointed! Its not safe. I did a post on the shoes that are in for the Fall season. Please take heed, because I usually don't get mad, but I am getting disap"POINTED"!

(what will it take??!!)

LB Watch: Morehouse Homecoming Show

On Tuesday October 17, LB sat front row at Morehouse's Homecoming Fashion Show which included performances by Young Gunz & Lil Wayne......ground breaking. The fashion show was really good, big ups to Deon, one of the director's of the show. LB enjoyed it!!!

After the fashion show, students were waiting for Mr.Carter to pump off that tour bus and onto the stage. But when I saw my peers roll up that chronic, it was time to go. So I called for the car to pick us up outback and we made our exit.... I initially wanted the driver to drop us off at 7:30 and pick us up at 7:45 sharp.

Juice Box: Konitchiwa

To the untrained eye this may look like just another random photo of Nigo. Hold that thought, because you have no idea. This is Nigo in his garage. Huh? Yes in his garage! This is just an intro to the rest of his house. His creative mind is beyond your wildest dreams. The decor of his home looks like a pop art museum, not to mention what he's done with Bathing Ape. No matter how much people may hate the globalization of BAPE, it will never take away from Nigo's success and the quality of his work. Fashion is everything around you and Nigo is living proof.

LB Watch: Advance Your Coffee Table

Morehouse College-Known For Producing Great Leaders, had a book signing/seminar on Monday, October 15 featuring alumni Derek Watkins aka Fonzworth Bentley. Mr. Bentley has a book, Advance Your Swagger: How to Use Manners, Confidence, and Style to Get Ahead. The event took place at Morehouse's Douglas Hall which was filled with over a hundred students with questions of how to break into the entertainment industry. After an hour long of hearing about his personal stories, I did leave the seminar with a little knowledge.

If I can be honest, this isn't my first run in with Derek, I had met him last season and he was not so nice. Maybe that day I was dressed to good. As a Morehouse student, I expected more from our first run in; No advice, no tips, so to say the least, I was over him. But the second time was better and I will be reading my signed copy of his book. Mr. Bentley will be releasing a music video that is suppose to tie into his book. Not sure how that will work but Im sure it will be great. My review on his book will come as soon as I finish (( start )) reading it. But I can say this, I do respect what he is doing.

DISCLAIMER: Alot of things are political, and I want to make it clear that I do respect Mr. Bentley. I simply felt that I would be truthful with the viewers about our first run in. I would so love to have a sit down with him to learn about his style and his advice for the Young Black Professional Man. Go purschase his book!!
