" Of The Year"...Bee & Jay

Beyonce and Jay-Z single handly took over their industry- from their style, music and those $$ numbers. This couple gets best everything!! They killed it when they were over in Paris where we saw both of them give style looks that they rarely do here in the states. From her tour and DVD release, to his album and the opening of 40/40 in Vegas, his dynasty is complete. And some people thought they wouldn't last. Say what you will but Bee & Jay, best everything "Of The Year"

HAPPY NEW YEAR from me to you, thanks so much for making lateboots a success, we have alot of changes for '08!

"Of The Year"... Kevo's Picks

Karl Largerfield one of the most prestige men in the whole fashion game. Although he isn't the man who you always see in the lime light he is "Fashionably Big". Karl designs for big time labels such as Fendi to Chanel. He is the man who designs Fendi's eclectic hand bags and Chanel's antique rich look." Praise" him Karl is the man and i think in 2007 he showed us why he works for these labels. I admire him for coming up with those concepts and ideas for his collections that he designed. Each garment that he designed and presented on the run-way was breathless and mouth dropping but simple. I want to be like Karl someday when i grow up so.....

KARL YOUR THE MAN!

" Decades" that is how I would describe our fashion trends of 2007. We've seen everything from 1980's bright crazy colors to 1940's high waisted pants for women to bell bottoms to flat Top haircuts. I think everybodyhad a enjoyment of dressing either 80's or what we refer to as " Vintage".

I myself experienced dressing 80's which seamed to be popular especially on the streets in most places. Overall I think most people enjoyed the whole different decade look and it brought out most peoplecreative side but not for all! Im curious to see what 2008 trend will be and how you can predict look at whats popular now but not so popular right now. sounds crazy but thats how trends become!!

Kelis! you are definitely the "BOSS" of fashion. Although 2007 wasn't Kelis big year she still proved that she had style. In my opinion Kelis's style is so SICK and innovative. She always seams to be the trend setter from her curly wild colorful hair, to her short cut blonde hair. Every outfit she puts on is very unique, It could be the simplest outfit but somewhere on that outfit there is going be a twist with it. As a male, to me there are not alot of female stars who style stick out to me but, I admire her style alot and in 2007 she still amazed me by coming hard with different looks, the one thing that sticks out to me about Kelis is that she never looks the same and she has that edginess that makes her different from the rest.

Juice Box : Banji

Im in love with this GIANT cover. It's so simple yet so demanding. Alicia's face is BEAT the fool yet the photo is banji cause she poppin dat gum. And I love the contrast. If you don't have the magazine, go buy it!! It's on stands now.

(( Fast forward to 1:44 to understand what Banji is. ))

Throwback : Fashion Is Burning (( Balls ))

Fashion, Balls, Vogue, late 1980's. One of my favorite clips (( fast forward to 1:44, cause Im a lil banji myself )) showed us what fashion was all about in the 80's and the obsession of labels and the need to be "fierce". It's shows us how we got where we are today in fashion. From ads to runway shows. Now for some who don't know about Paris Is Burning is a documentary about the gay House's in New York. I can watch this video time after time because it teaches you where "ova" originated from and most of the slang we use "shade", "beat" and how voguing started. Knowing the history is a must and it's quite entertaining.

Cartier Times : Beat In Sin City

3 shades of BEAT. I love every single one in that order. BEYONCE, JURNEE & SOLANGE. Im so mad I couldn't make it to Vegas for Jay's concert "An Evening With Jay-Z" at The Pearl at Palms Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas last night. And tonight club 40/40 is opening in Vegas. Damn.

Cartier Times : Queen Bee

Hate it, or love her, I been fu*kin with KIM since '96 and she has truly changed the game. KIM was spittin about Louis Vuitton, Prada, Chanel, Moschino, Missoni among plenty of others back in the day. I didn't know about these labels until I heard it on a KIM LP. From "Big Momma Thang" to " Crush On You" KIM has always been into fashion. KIM's look has changed throughout the years, but she always gives you something to talk about. KIM was the first to set alot of trends in addition to wearing and rapping about things people secretly wanted to do. I grew up on KIM and my love for labels is accredited to her. Im not even gonna front, and neither should you, KIM is the shit, don't hate her, it is what it is.Now some people ain't gonna feel me, but them true fashion peeps who was into the Brooklyn scene in '96 know exactly what Im talkin about. KIM taught you about labels and how to do nasty things in the bedroom. Now the muse of Marc Jacobs, KIM ain't goin nowhere, my first time meeting her was in Febuary of this year and I told her everything I've just said, when she saw me, she said "HEEYYY BABBIII" yes KIM I love you!!

Carta : Grown Woman

Im so glad this whole black girl "blonde" thing is over. Some women just don't look right with blonde hair. Sorry, even the prettiest women can be drowned out with these bright locks. Coffee is good with cream, but better when it's black. And one thing I can't stand is a colored contact. Something about a grown woman or man with a colored conact just don't make sense. Now if you have a natural light colored eye then pump on, but colored contacts, no-no. Stay true to your natural hair and eye color, it just looks alot better. Naomi Campbell looks like a different person with her blonde vs. natural color, like Chanel said, "every woman should take off one accessory before they leave the house" samething goes for when you're beating your mug! Make up and hair should'nt be used for you to create a whole nother person!! Now some people can pull it off, and some can't. Keep it natural in '08.

Go-C : Aaron Pope

Aaron Pope who is signed with Qmodels is the new face of Sean John. I know most you of have seen the ads and I've had alot of emails for me to do a post on him. When I saw the ads a few weeks ago I was like, oh Aaron, I know him.
I've known of him from a few years ago, he was in a few ads for Abercrombie & Fitch. His look works for him because Sean John is so the opposite of Abercrombie, that just goes to show you he has more than one look- but with the same look. He's given me every bit of Brooklyn in that last picture!! and be sure to catch more of Aaron in '08, he's landed plenty of campaigns!!

Hall Closet : Dolce & Gaybbana

Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana (( if you're into fashion, you already knew they are/were gay male lovers )) is back with a new Dolce & Gabbana commercial ad, but it seems to have went gay. D&G is one of my favorite brands but this ad throws me off, notice the D&G logo in rainbow colors, is Dolce & Gabbana becoming a gay brand? Like they say, fashion is all about self expression.

Hall Closet : Sweet 16

Lera has been givin the industry hell from being one of the first out at the SS08 Marc Jacobs. This 16 year old Ukrainian is something so serious. Her frame is what fashion is all about, get into her LEGS & SHOES. (( Exhales )).

Go-C : Lyoka

Give me hair, Im in lust with Lyoka. Im not sure what it is but in these polaroids she is given me exactly what I need. It could just be her hair but Im livin. I see her becoming BIG. She's signed with 1 Model Management and FM Agency so Im sure she will be well taken care of.

Hall Closet : Erin For Versace

America's favorite house has a new face, and what I love about Versace is that is keeps recreating itself year after year. Remember everybody wanted those Versace Frames with the lion logo back in '96. Well Erin Heatherton is gaining campaign traction, here she is with One’s Denisa for Versace Jeans. Signed with Marilyn Agency, Erin is most wanted in the fashion industry.

((Why oh why, Charlize?))

Go-C : Wendell

Moment of silence...........I want that body. Red’s Wendell Lissimore is one of the new faces that you should be on the lookout for next year '08. I respect and love when I see another person of color making moves in the fashion industry. Although alot of people jadore fashion, it's still a business and can get political at times. He has already had shoots for V and L’Uomo Vogue. Yeah, Vogue, I love it!!

LB Look Book : Duckie Brown

Conservative Phifer no more, this Spring '08 Im trying something new. Donating all my Ralph Lauren pieces, Im heading towards the more ready-to-wear causal yet chic look. One of my favorite designers DUCKIE BROWN shows me how to dress simple, yet adding something that makes the ensemble pop. From that golden trench coat to a bright orange track jacket, I might enjoy putting my new look together.

Hall Closet: "Ad" it UP

Here are some more ads that I came across that I went up for! Dolce & Gabbana (above), Louis Vuitton, and randomly Hugo Boss gave me life in more ways than one. The different levels of volume that these ads serve are totally up my alley. I love the direction that these creative directors take these shoots simply because a certain essence is captured with these pictures, and with that happening, the merchandise is so easily sold... Plus, the models are sick-o-ning! LOL... Enjoy the pics after the jump...

Hall Closet: Man Alive

I had almost lost hope, but the MAN is definitely ALIVE. I really don't live for many MALE looks, (I know you're like aren't you a guy??!!, YES! I am, but WOMENS fashion entice me more.) But I found hope with these looks. Karl Lagerfeld is so stupid, like he is a true innovator on both ends, and for that he has a special place in my heart. These looks are from his Spring 2007 collection and they gave me a breath of fresh air.. More runway looks after the jump...

((Belts in the waist.....ohhhh Karl!!!.. LOL))

Hall Closet: Beauty & Debris...

Editorials are definitely here and here to stay! Like this is the epitome of "out of the box", and I absolutely live for it. Shot by renowned photographer Chantal Michel, debris has never looked more fashionable. The contrast of the garments and the props on set, gives a distinct mixture of catastrophe and bold FASHION. It is everything. Literally. Get into the spread after the jump.

((debris is giving beauty HELL this time around...))
