NY Fashion Week: Marc Jacobs

Marc Jacobs always throws me for a loop with his signature line. His Marc by Marc Jacobs line is always more fun and quirky, but his signature line is way more thought out and sometimes "too" thought out. What I draw from this is that he was inspired by two elements that are really far away from one another... the late 70's and safari desert wear! (Weird, right)...LOL! Well I admire his clothing all the time, but the concepts of them bewilder me, does that make sense? The silhouettes and structures in this collection is what makes it so interesting, and the material he used was also impressive.

The ultra thick head bands, and the detailing of the shoulders were AMAZING! The semi-cow neck one pieced uniform dresses were tailored nicely and really accents the womans body. I don't know about the massive broach, but the charcoal grey was definitely fitting! The caramel colored piece was very "costumey" but I adored it nonetheless. The hints of glitter and beading on the cuffs and the neck added a splash of "glam" to it and made it more likable.
This was really sexy to me. The mysteriousness of the sheer hood makes her look as though she's coming for you! This is where that whole "safari" look comes into play. She is fully dressed with a suede pant, and flowy chiffon top on her hunt to get him! Secondly, the head piece is really cute and helps emphasize her simple, yet chic look.
This is the most "out-of-the-box" look he presented in his collection. The girth of the head bands and the square-like structure of the jackets were superb. I mean I won't be shocked if I don't see this look out anywhere, but it was definitely appeasing to view. I also adored the soft pale blue that he implemented to the look on the right, and that mustard colored low cut ankle bootie on the left! I see you Marc!
