LB Showroom: Mr. Wang Adds On - Not Bad

Alexander Wang has been considered one of the most well put together "ready-to-wear" brands that presents at Fashion week and I pretty much have to agree. With his accolades and success being in order he has decided to add and make a few changes to his "simple" yet thriving empire.
Parting ways with his creative director (Erin Wasson) of two years, Wang picked up Alastair McKimm to style his Spring 2009 collection in place of Wasson. Alexander promises a newer and more FUN line for 2009.

"There will be lots of color and dresses, an athletic-meets-“Miami Vice” vibe, lace patterns inspired by sweat stains, and runway hats by milliner Albertus Swanepoel that look like a mix between swim caps and “corseted do-rags". Wang explained.

Also with the change up he is implementing a tee-shirt line (T by Alexander Wang) and his very first shoe line. Tanks to T-shirt dresses will range from ($28-$40 wholesale) in colors ranging from whites and gray to lavender, chartreuse and cerulean, all in Alex's signature slouchy and over-sized style. The shoes give me a very dark and racy feel that I feel would complement his additions very well. There are five styles to begin with ranging from $125 to $250 wholesale. And apparently Mr. Wang used actual body piercings on the shoes as visuals! Make sure that you're on the look out for Alexander Wang at Fashion Week this year!

Some people might know Jonte' for his remake of Vanity 6's "Make-up", or Beyonce's "Freakum Dress" video. But it goes further then that. Jonte' began dance training at age 13 with choreographer Kim Borgaro (Michael Jackson, Lionel Ritchie) Fast forward a few years and he found himself in New York were he then trained at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre.

Jonte' then went on to concert, television and video performances with Jordan Knight, Mya, Mario, Ciara and Carmit of the Pussy Cat Dolls just to name a few. One of his biggest achievements was Madonna's Confessions on the Dance Floor documentary and the now infamous 2004 Janet Jackson Super Bowl performance. Jonte' has moved from the background into the spotlight. By bringing shock and drama but ultimately entertainment to the music industry, he promises to be one of the edgiest performers to come along. His exotic look and style has already garnered him coverage in such publications as, The Ones, Quixote's Chin Magazine, Elle Magazine and a featured model wearing the latest Couture by Patricia Fields and Dutchess in the first issue of Gazelland with Boy George. To catch a sneak preview of things to come, Jonte' can often be seen on Thursday nights at New York City hotspot, Kino 41, wrecking the stage at Sussane Bartch,Kenny Kenny and Boy George's party, Rich Powerful Beautiful and Famous along with club luminaries, Richie Rich, Amanda Lepore and Sophia Lamar.
